Bangor, Maine — On Tuesday, students, activists, and advocates gathered in front of the office of Bangor Rep. Jared Golden (Jared Golden) to let their voices be heard. Their hope is to urge Congressman Golden to support key issues, because Congress will continue to negotiate its "rebuild better" spending plan.

Some of the key issues include our health care economy, clean energy infrastructure and green jobs in response to climate change, and the citizenship of basic immigrant workers. Negina Lowe, a student from the University of Maine and an intern from the People's League of Maine, organized the event. She said that the organization wants Congressman Golden to express his support for the organization known as the Three Cs: Care, Climate, and Citizenship.

"Climate change is happening. This is true. We need funds to provide sustainable energy jobs...nursing, home care, paying our caregivers so that they can stay in these areas...and get citizenship The path has always been difficult, it needs reform, and this is what we are working on," Lowe said.

In response to today's rally, Congressman Kim issued a statement:

"I am very happy to hear the opinions of all my voters. Freedom of political speech and assembly are important to me. The details of this legislation are still being negotiated and I am publicly sharing my views on how to improve the legislation on the President’s agenda. In the final analysis, I think it’s my responsibility to review the contents of the final bill before deciding how to vote, and I think the details are important when discussing millions, billions, or even trillions of taxpayers’ funds."

Students and activists also gathered today in front of Portland Senator Angus King’s office to support the same cause.
